CHINA-INTERNAL: LEADERSHIP- XI JINPING

The Shaanxi Daily reported on October 15, 2015, that the central authorities had approved a 45-part Television series on Xi Jinping to be called Liangjiahe, after the villge where he spent time as a 'sent-down' youth during the Cultural Revolution. Xi Jinping lived in Liangjiahe from 1968-75. Officially, Liangjiahe will focus on the lives of all those who resided there during the 50s, 60s and 70s and not just Xi Jinping.

Wen Haojie, a Chinese film-maker whose previous works include a wartime drama called Chongqing Spy War, will reportedly write the screenplay.

(Comment: Separately, the state media publicised that about '100,000 tourists now flock to see Xi’s former abode each year'.)
