Reports circulating in China claim that Shanghai Vice Mayor Ai Baojun is under investigation on charges of corruption. Ai Baojun was formerly a senior executive at Baosteel, and was appointed to head the Shanghai Free Trade Zone (SHFTZ) in 2013. An inspection team from the Party's anti-corruption body, Central Discipline Inspection Commission (CDIC), arrived at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) early this month for investigations. All Directors and Deputy Directors of all the research institutions under CASS have been barred from going out of town for the next two months.
