Authorities of the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) have instructed all foreigners to leave the Region by February 25, 2016. No foreigners will be allowed to visit Tibet till the end of March. These are part of precautions being taken in connection with the 57th anniversary of the March 10 Uprising after which the Dalai Lama fled into exile in 1959 and the 8th anniversary of the 2008 riots in Tibet.
