According to an announcement on September 9, 2016, Huang Xingguo, Acting Mayor of Tianjin Municipality has been placed under investigation on 'serious' charges of corruption. (Comment: Huang Xingguo is of Han nationality, born in October 1954, in Xiangshan, Zhejiang. He began work in 1972 and joined the CCP in September 1973. He graduated from the Tongji University School of Economics and Management. He has degrees in Management Science and Engineering and a PhD in education.)
