Radio Free Asia reported that Chinese police in Sichuan’s Ngaba county detained and beat Tenpa, a young 18 year old former monk of Kirti Monastery on December 16, 2016, after he launched a solo protest calling for freedom for Tibet. This is the eighth such protest reported in the county so far this year. Tenpa was carrying a photo of exiled spiritual leader the Dalai Lama.
