According to Xinhua News Agency, the Twelfth Meeting of the Twelfth National People's Congress Standing Committee on April 27 afternoon voted to appoint former Zhejiang Province Party Secretary, 64-year old Xia Baolong as Vice Chairman of the the National People's Congress (NPC) Environmental and Resources Protection Committee. Xinhua News Agency also reported on April 26, that Che Jun has been appointed as Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

(Comment: Xia Baolong (born in December 1952) in Tianjin is a member of the 18th CCP Central Committee. He replaced Zhao Hong Zhuzhe as Zhejiang provincial party committee secretary in December 2012. Che Jun began his career in Anhui province and rose to prominence taking charge of Shijiazhuang in the aftermath of the Chinese milk scandal. He was dispatched to Xinjiang following the July 2009 Urumqi riots. He has been Governor of Zhejiang since 2016. Che Jun is a member of the 18th CCP CC.)
