CHINA-RUSSIA: ENERGY COOPERATION

The Asia Times quoted China's official '21st Century Business Herald' as reporting on September 25, 2017, that Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli and Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Arkady Dvorkovich formally agreed to expand energy cooperation between the two nations at the 14th annual China-Russia Energy Cooperation Committee summit. The meeting also saw both sides exchange views on natural gas and coal power and agree to accelerate cooperation in the areas of energy equipment and strategic programs.  

(Comment: Russia is currently the top exporter to China for oil and energy, and the fifth for coal. China also plans to complete a Russian oil and gas pipeline from Moh at the Russian border to Daqing,in Heilongjiang province.)
