At a meeting of the Beijing Communist Party's United Front Work department on October 27, 2017, Qi Jing, Standing Committee Member and Minister of the United Front Work Department of Beijing City, said that 'the 19th Party Congress is a political declaration that our Party has entered a new era, opened the scientific guide for the new journey and continued writing new chapters for programme of action'. He said it had, among other things, strived for the 'grand victory of socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era' and outlined 'important plans to realise the Chinese Dream of Great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation'. He called upon cadres to 'incorporate the basic strategy and Xi’s socialism with Chinese characteristics for new era into the United Front', put the United Front at new strategic heights and entrust 'new missions of the present times upon the United Front'. He averred that the 'Beijing United Front will take initiatives to uphold Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for new era as its guiding ideology and fundamentally follow it, and continuously consolidate the ideological and political foundation for common cause and unity with the party'. He said "comrade Xi Jinxing is a wise leader (英明领袖) and is our chief architect of the modernization of reform and opening up in the new era and is the “core” of the party". He called upon the cadres to "resolutely safeguard the authority of the CCP Central Committee and collective unified leadership". He underscored the importance of General Secretary Xi Jinping's remarks on the United Front " to formulate a new "five-year plan" for the building a contingent of non-party delegates, and promote the "three innovations" of organization, connection and activity methods of the united front group, implement a “series of action plans" with the overall situation revolving around serving the centre. He said the United Front System at all levels of the Party committees at all levels in the city and it's various units must act in accordance with the establishment of the Party in the new era especially the new demands to be faced by the Party cadres, so they should keep their mission firmly in mind and respect their duties, in order to constantly open up a new scenario in Beijing United Front work. He said 'we need to work hard so that Beijing can better perform the duties of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation i.e. Chinese dream'.
