The Cyberspace Administration of China on January 31, 2018 announced that as of December 2017, the number of netizens in China reached 772 million with a penetration rate of 55.8%, surpassing the global average of 51.7% by 4.1% and surpassing the Asian average of 46.7% by 9.1%.
