CHINA-JAPAN: MUJI STORE ORDERED TO WITHDRAW CATALOGUES

The Washington Post reported on January 30, 2018 that Japanese retailer Muji has been ordered by Chinese authorities to destroy a catalog with a map that Beijing says mislabels Taiwan and omits disputed islands, joining a string of companies rebuked for commercial materials that fail to reflect China’s territorial claims. China's official 'The Paper' on January 30 said the retailer had been instructed to destroy the catalogues for 'serious errors such as misinterpreting the borderline, missing diatribes of Diaoyu Island, Chiwei Island and the South China Sea islands, different colors of Hainan Island and the Mainland, mistakes made in Taiwan Island, and so on'. It said Muji has acknowledged the error.
