On January 29, 2018 afternoon a PLAAF aircraft crashed during flight training in Guizhou killing all the crew. The Southern Theatre Command said on February 2 that it had  approved them as "revolutionary martyrs" who had dedicated "their precious lives to the building of a strong modern People's Air Force".
