CHINA-LEADERSHIP: CHINESE PREMIER LI KEQIANG CONVENES SEMINAR TO SOLICIT OPINIONS ON DRAFT GOVERNMENT WORK REPORT

Chairing a seminar on February 8 to solicit opinions on the Government Draft Work Report, Li Keqiang said that in the past year, under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, China’s development has made new and hardwon achievements. "Outbreaks and other unexpected factors that had a severe impact on the economy; we responded in a timely and decisive manner to these, implemented announced policy measures, introduced a package of policies and follow-up measures to stabilise the economy, and held a national teleconference on stabilising the economy. We implemented large-scale tax rebates, tax reductions and fee reductions to help small and medium-sized enterprises and individual industrial and commercial households’ tide over the difficulties and support stable employment and people's livelihood. Innovative policy tools were devised to support major project construction, equipment renovation, and expand investment and consumption. There was a focus on grain production and energy supply, which laid a solid foundation for price stability.
