Peking University, which has been giving increasing attention to Marxism, sponsored the biggest academic conference on Marxism held in China on October 11, 2015. The Congress, whose theme was "Marxism and the Development of the Human Race," attracted more than 400 Marxist scholars from 20 countries and the event was publicised by China's official media including Guangming Daily and Global Times.
