CHINA-INTERNAL:RELIGION

A Professor of Sociology at USA's Purdue University and author of 'Religion in China: Survival and Revival under Communist Rule', Fenggang Yang recently predicted that China will have around 160 million Protestants by 2025.
According to the Pew Research Center's Forum on Religion and Public Life, China had 58 million Protestants in 2010. He added that China's total Christian population, including Catholics, would be over 247 million by 2030. He said that "Mao thought he could eliminate religion. He thought he had accomplished this. It's ironic – they didn't. They actually failed completely."
