CHINA-INTERNAL: XI JINPING'S COMMENTS ON PARTY DISCIPLINE

On May 3, 2016, the CCP's mouthpiece 'People's Daily' and China's official news agency Xinhua published the full text of Xi Jinping's speech at a plenary session of the CCP CC's Central Discipline Inspection Commission (CDIC), which mapped out the anti-graft work for 2016, and was held in January in Beijing. In a hard-hitting speech Chinese President Xi Jinping warned "There are careerists and conspirators existing in our Party and undermining the Party's governance. We should not bury our heads in the sand and spare these members but must make a resolute response to eliminate the problem and deter further violations." Xi Jinping said "some officials have been forming cabals and cliques to covertly defy the CPC Central Committee's decisions and policies" and they "risk compromising the political security of the Party and the country." He added "We must make it clear that our Party's fight against corruption is not a snobbish affair that discriminates between different people, and it is not a 'House of Cards' power struggle." He asserted that there will be no easing in the campaign against corruption, but it would in fact be intensified. Check out latest Kroger Ads
