CHINA-INTERNAL:TERRORISM

In the third attack in three months on a mass hub transport centre in China, six people were wounded in a knife attack at 11 am at the Guangzhou Railway Station on May 6, 2014.  Six persons were injured in the attack where, when police responded, one assailant was shot and another injured. Witnesses reported there were four attackers in all who wore white hats and were shouting as they attacked people. Sina Weibo and other Chinese sites are abuzz with news of the attack with many netizens expressing fear.

China had stepped up deployment of armed police presence all across China with effect from May 1, following the knife attacks in Kunming in late April.
