The Hebei Province Propaganda Department convened a forum on April 30, to inaugurate the establishment of the 'Hebei Provincial Secretary General Xi Jinping Speech Essence Research Centre'. According to the official release issued on the occasion, the centre has been set up to "strengthen the study of the essence of Xi Jinping's speeches".

No previous Secretary General of the CCP CC has had such a centre established. The CCP CC Propaganda Department subsequently in early May censored the news and ordered China's official media to not refer to, or report, any such news and delete all posts on the web relating to this news.
