Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Geng Yansheng announced on May 29 that Lt. Gen. Wang Guanzhong, Deputy Chief of the PLA General Staff will lead a 11-member PLA delegation to attend the Shangri-la Dialogue being held in Singapore from May 30 to June 2, 2014. A team of Chinese diplomats will, for the first time,also attend the conference organised annually by the London-based IISS. It will be led by Fu Ying, former Vice Minister in China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who now chairs the National People's Congress (NPC)'s Foreign Affairs Committee. Fu Ying is known for her sharp tongue and robust defence skills.
