CHINA-INTERNAL-MILITARY

A report compiled by a US-based Chinese dissident, Wu Renhua, reveals that the official biographies of PLA General Zhang Yang and Major General Qin Shengxiang have been wiped clean of involvement in the PLA crackdown in Tiananmen on 3-4 June 1989. In 1989, General Zhang Yang was 37 years old and posted as Political Commissar of the 187 Division's Artillery Regiment. He was posted there from September 1989 to December 1990.  Major General Qin Shengxiang was 32 years old and serving in the 65th Group Army. Both men are thought to be close to Chinese President Xi Jinping. General Zhang Yang is Director of the PLA's powerful General Political Department while Maj. General Qin Shengxiang heads the General Office of the Central Military Commission.

The report claims that Xu Qinxian, Commander of the 38th Group Army, refused to take part in the military operation.
