CHINA-US: TIANANMEN

On the occasion of the 'Tiananmen incident's' 25th anniversary on June 4, the US newspaper 'Washington Post' published two editorials including one entitled 'A Silver anniversary no one will celebrate' by US Assistant Secretary for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, Tom Malinowski.

Also on June 4, China's official 'Global Times' published an editorial penned by one of its 'expert' foreign journalists, Johnathan Ross, criticising a resolution passed by the US Congress on May 28 condemning China's human rights record. The Global Times editorial lauded China's achievements, including pulling 600 million people out of poverty, and described USA's human rights record as "laughable".

A US-based Chinese dissident Wu Renhua has also written two  books on the 'Tiananmen incident', detailing  the identities of PLA and other units, and the names of 3000 soldiers, officers, and commanders. He hacked into the Internets  of retired commanders and read their accounts of what they did.
