CHINA-INTERNAL:ENVIRONMENT

Three researchers from China's Chang'an University, in a paper published in the latest issue of the prestigious international journal 'Nature', warned that an unprecedented more than 700 mountains are being 'removed' creating several hundred  square kilometers of flattened land and this is leading to air and water pollution, erosion, and flooding. The researchers warn that “there has been too little modelling of the costs and benefits of land creation. Inexperience and technical problems delay projects and add costs, and the environment impacts are not being thoroughly considered.”
