Three knife-wielding individuals attacked a group of civilians playing chess in a chess hall in Hotan, Xinjiang-Uyghur Autonomous Region on Sunday, 15th June, 2014 evening. The individuals fought back and others came to their aid while armed police arrived just over a minute later. Police overpowered the attackers, two of whom died while the third was wounded and then arrested. Four civilians were also injured.
