CHINA-INTERNAL: HONGKONG TO BE FURTHER INTEGRATED WITH MAINLAND

China's official Xinhua News Agency reported that PBSC member and Vice Premier Han Zheng presided over the first meeting of the State Council Leading Small Group for Developing the Greater Bay Area in Beijing on August 15. Those attending included: Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam; Macau Chief Executive Chui Sai On; NDRC Chairman He Lifeng; Guangdong Party Secretary Li Xi; and Guangdong Governor Ma Xingrui. Among the initiatives approved were reducing roaming charges for mobile phones between the three regions and making it easier for Hong Kong and Macau residents to start businesses on the Mainland.
