XI JINPING ADDRESSES FIRST MEETING OF 'CENTRAL COMMITTEE FOR COMPREHENSIVE RULING BY LAW

China's official news agency Xinhua reported on August 24, that CCP CC General Secretary Xi Jinping, who is also the Director of the Central Committee for Comprehensive Ruling by Law, hosted its first meeting and delivered an important speech. Xi Jinping stressed that "on the new journey of coordinating the great struggle, the great project, the great cause, the great dream, and building a socialist modernized country in an all-round way, we must strengthen the party's centralized and unified management of the country according to law." Xi Jinping pointed out that 'to adhere to and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics requires more dependence on the rule of law, and it is even more necessary to strengthen the party's leadership over the full rule of law'. He emphasised that it is essential to 'strengthen the party's need for centralized and unified leadership in the administration of the country according to law' and 'provide the rule of law for the Chinese nation's great rejuvenation of the Chinese dream'. Xi Jinping called for promoting 'the institutionalization and rule of law of the party's leadership' and to 'implement the party's leadership in the overall process and all aspects of the rule of law'. Li Keqiang, Li Zhanshu and Wang Huning, members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the deputy director of the Central Committee for Comprehensive Ruling by Law, attended the meeting. Members of the Central Committee for Comprehensive Ruling by Law attended the meeting, and the responsible comrades of the central and state departments concerned also attended the meeting.
