According to reports in the Chinese media, Deng Xiaoping's only grandson 28-year old Deng Zhuodi, has recently been appointed Party Secretary of Pingguo County xin'anzhen. He was identified by a local newspaper in May 2013 as Baise Pingguo County Deputy Magistrate, after which he is said to have shied away from appearing in public.
