CHINA-INTERNAL: TIBET POLICY

Chinese diplomat traveled to Lhasa on August 21 to attend a meeting on promoting the Party’s talking points on Tibet through China’s global influence operations. The meeting followed the announcement of an intensified propaganda campaign on Tibet earlier this year. Organized by the United Front Work Department, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, State Council and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the official media reported that the meeting declared that Tibet was an important part of the diplomatic work for staff in embassies and consulates in foreign countries. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Hunhai also addressed the gathering.
