CHINA-INTERNAL: LEADERSHIP/CORRUPTION

Quoting the CCP CC Organisation Department's website, China's authoritative official news agency 'Xinhua' reported on June 30, that Guangzhou Province Party Secretary Wan Qingliang has been dismissed from his post following an investigation for corruption. An announcement three days earlier had disclosed that Wan Qingliang was being probed on charges of corruption. 

As Party Secretary, Wan Qingliang, who held the rank of Vice Minister, is one of 117 Alternate Members of the CCP's Central Committee, which has 205 Full Members.
