The state-owned Global Times on December 27, quoted runsky.com, a website run by the Dalian Radio and Television Station which reported that Robert Lloyd Schellenberg, a Canadian citizen, will be put on trial by Liaoning Provincial High People’s Court on drug smuggling charges. Meanwhile, the official website of Liaoning High People’s Court released a statement on December 26, saying the court will accept and hear the case of appellant Schellenberg at 2pm on December 29. runsky.com. claimed the amount of drugs that he allegedly smuggled “will surprise you when it goes public.”
