CHINA-CANADA: CHINA RELEASES DETAINED CANADIAN NATIONAL

Global Affairs reported on December 29, that Sarah McIver of Alberta who was detained over a work permit issue related to her teaching job has been released and she has returned to Canada. The spokesman for Global Affairs said “Global Affairs can confirm that a Canadian citizen, who was detained in China this month, has been released and has now returned to Canada. “Due to the provisions under the Privacy Act, no further information can be disclosed.”
