The PRC State Council announced (December 28, 2018) the appointment of 61-year old former Vice Commerce Minister Fu Ziying as Director of the central government’s Liaison Office in Macau.  He replaces Zheng Xiaosong, who fell to his death in October.

(Comment: Fu Ziying has a Doctorate in Economics. He spent three decades working in China’s foreign trade and economic cooperation authorities, rising through the ranks from senior accountant to become a Vice Minister of Commerce.)

The State Council announced (December 29, 2018) that Feng Wei, who is 61 and stayed on a year after retirement, had been relieved of the post of Deputy Director of its Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, and  57-year old Deng Zhonghua had been appointed to fill the position. Deng Zhonghua is the second number two functionary appointed to the office in the past two years with anticorruption experience.
