Reporting Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Tianjin, Xinhua (January 18) reported that he visited a service and administration station for veterans in the community and stressed that setting up institutions for veteran affairs is to enhance the management of veterans and better protect their welfare in order to make military service a publicly respected occupation.
