CHINA-INTERNAL: ECONOMY FDI
Citing data released by China's Ministry of Commerce on January 14, the 21st Century Business Herald reported that China’s foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2018 hit a record high of US$134.97 billion, an increase of 3% from a year earlier. It said China continued to attract FDI amid a sharp drop in investment globally. According to the Global Investment Trends Monitor report released by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, global FDI fell by 41% in the first half of 2018, and that of developed countries dropped by 69%.
