CHINA-EDUCATION: MODERNISATION OF EDUCATION

China announced two development plans on China’s education on February 23, outlining blueprints for the sector’s modernization and development by 2035. One of the plans set the goals and tasks for 2035, while the other one detailed the facilitation of the education modernization drive from 2018 to 2022. Eight goals were proposed in the education modernization plan 2035, with the number 1 strategic task of the 2035 plan being to study Xi Jinping Thought, push it throughout the education system and strengthen political thought education in institutes of higher education.
