CHINA-VENEZUELA: EXERCISE WITH RUSSIAN TROOPS

AFP on April 4, reported that Beijing has dismissed reports that it sent 120 soldiers to Venezuela along with a shipment of humanitarian aid as reported in some sections of the media earlier. Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang told reporters on April 2. "I don't know where you got this information or for what purpose was it produced, but I can tell you this: what you said is simply not true. The Chinese government's position on the Venezuela issue is consistent and clear-cut” and China opposes “external interference in Venezuela's internal affairs, and believe the country's government and opposition need to seek a political solution through peaceful dialogue.”Separately, a shipment of 65 tons of Chinese medicine reached Caracas on April 5.
