CHINA-INTERNAL: POLITBURO DISCUSSES PROPAGANDA WORK

Xinhua (April 19) reported that the CCP CC Politburo met on April 19 to discuss the Party’s propaganda work and deliberate new Party regulations that govern work of the propaganda system. It stressed that“Propaganda work is the one of the Party’s extremely important activities” and that "Propaganda is the Chinese Communist Party’s political advantage.” It identified as top priority within the overall propaganda agenda,“the study, propagation, and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era as the primary political task.” The Politburo meeting also held a separate study session to discuss 'The May Fourth Movement' and said the movement’s upcoming 100th anniversary is important.
