CHINA-US: CHINESE PAY TO GET CHILDREN INTO ELITE U.S. COLLEGES

During the ongoing investigations by the U.S.' FBI into a cheating syndicate that got admission for children into elite colleges on payment, the FBI uncovered pharmaceutical billionaire Zhao Tao, owner of Shandong Buchang Pharmaceuticals Co., paid  US$ 6.5 million to college counselor William “Rick” Singer for his daughter, Yusi's admission to Stanford University. Zhao Tao has cultivated close ties with Beijing and also met President Trump to promote a key Beijing foreign-policy initiative.
