CHINA-UN: UN EXPERTS EXAMINING USE OF CHINESE MISSILES IN LIBYA

Agence France-Presse reported that a panel of experts reported to the UN Security Council that it examined photographs of the debris and identified a Chinese-made Blue Arrow air-to-surface missile. It was used in last month’s missile strikes on the southern suburbs of Tripoli in Libya. The panel said it was “almost certain” that the missiles were not directly supplied by the manufacturer, or by China, to Libya. It is also investigating the use of Chinese-made Wing Loong unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) variants. Wing Loong is a medium-altitude long-endurance drone developed by the Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group (CAIG).
