 1.  Growth rate target for 2014 fixed at 7.5 per cent taking GDP to US$ 10 trillion by December.

2.  Priority in Defence given to PLA Logistics and military R&D.
3. Major General Yin Zhuo said PLA should draw up "strategy on cyberspace to guard national security".
(The recently established Central Internet Security and Information Leading Group headed by Xi Jinping is a step in this direction.)
4. Domestic security budget has not been disclosed this year unlike previous years. The publicly cited figure is for the national law enforcement apparatus alone and is RMB 205.7billion (US$ 34 billion).
5. RMB 457 billion has been earmarked for housing for urban poor, water and energy conservation and social welfare.
6. Medical insurance for rural poor has been raised by RMB 320 (US$2.30) per capita.
7. As part of environment protection measures, a ban has been imposed on 6 billion old vehicles and 50,000 small coal-fueled furnaces have been closed and desulphurisation facilities are being installed in thermal plants.
