The HSBC Bank, Standard Chartered and Bank of East Asia on August 23 placed full page advertisements in the Wen Wei Po, Ta Kung Pao and Sing Tao Daily condemning the violence in HongKong and calling for a peaceful resolution. 

Separately, in London, Bank of England Chairman mark Carney pulled out of a dinner being hosted on at Guildhall, London, on September 3 to foster UK-China relations.
