CHINA-PLA AIR FORCE: CHINA'S NEW UPGRADED JF-17 'THUNDERBIRD' COMPLETES MAIDEN FLIGHT

The Global Times (January 1, 2020) reported that the latest upgraded version of the JF-17  Thunderbird co-produced by China and Pakistan completed its maiden flight last week. It is reportedly fitted with China’s J-20s fighter jet technologies. It has undergone major upgrades in electronic devices and installed with many commercial off-the-shelf technologies from the state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China, that will significantly increase its combat efficiency. The technologies include a new and larger holographic wide-angle head-up display and an integrated cockpit display similar to the one used by the J-20, in addition to an advanced infrared missile approach warning system used by the J-10C, J-16 and J-20 fighter jets.
