CHINA-LEADERSHIP: CHINESE PRESIDENT XI JINPING VISITS ACADEMY OF MILITARY SCIENCES IN TIANJIN

Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the PLA Academy of Military Medical Sciences and Tsinghua University Medicine School in Beijing on March 6, to inspect scientific research work related to the coronavirus. Xi Jinping called for treating the pursuit of scientific breakthroughs as a “major and urgent” task and stressed the importance of technology in increasing the cure rate and lowering the mortality rate. Xi Jinping held a meeting after his visit to listen to work briefings by the Ministry of Science and Technology and National Health Commission.
