CHINA-CZECH REPUBLIC: MEDICAL AID TO OVERSEAS CHINESE SEIZED BY AUTHORITIES IN USTI STATE, CZECH REPUBLIC

The WeChat public account "Lishui Qiaolian" of China's Guancha magazine on March 20, reported that according to Czech media reports on March 19, the Czech Usti State Customs on March 17 inspected the Lovosicích na LitomÄ› icku Industrial Park and found that there were about 680,000 breathing masks and 28,000 masks in a warehouse . The Governor of Usti State decided to requisition these masks in accordance with the Emergency Crisis Act. Of these, 380,000 breathing masks were left to local police and fire emergency personnel, and the rest were given to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to the Prague Times, this batch of materials was provided by the governments of Zhejiang Province, Lishui City, and Qingtian County to European overseas Chinese, and has the Red Cross donation label. Due to the grounding of most European flights, the China-Europe trains arrived at the overseas warehouse in Usti State on March 16, and were ready to be relayed to overseas Chinese in European countries. Non-Czech media reports claimed that Chinese merchants were hoarding. Guancha said relevant parties are communicating with Czech Republic to clarify the false reports in the Czech media.
