CHINA-EDUCATION: PROVINCES BEGIN REOPENING SCHOOLS

Caixin reported (March 27) that kindergartens in Jiangsu province will reopen on April 7, the third grades will start on March 30th, and the high school starts on April 13.  Jiangsu said colleges and universities will start on April 13. Yunnan and Shaanxi also proposed staggered peaks to start school with High school and junior high school in Yunnan scheduled to start on March 23, and on March 30,  and other grades of primary and secondary schools followed by universities and kindergartens and special schools will start late. Shaanxi will reopen senior high schools on March 30 and  junior high schools on April 7. Other grades and schools will start later. Junior high schools, high schools and secondary vocational schools in Qinghai Province, and the third and third grades of Guizhou Province and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have begun. The senior year of Shanxi Province was expected to start on March 25. Senior high schools and junior high schools in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region are scheduled to start on March 30. Junior and senior high schools are to start in Guangxi and Hainan provinces on April 7. Beijing and Shanghai have not yet specified the start time of schools at all levels. Sichuan, Anhui, and Fujian provinces will also start school in April. The third grade of Sichuan will return to school on April 1, and the third grade will return to school on April 7; high schools in Anhui will start on April 7, and the third grade on April 13; all schools in Fujian will start on April 7.
