CHINA-INTERNAL: ANTI-CORRUPTION

In a statement issued on August 6, 2014, the Central Discipline Inspection Commission(CDIC) announced that Shen Peiping, former Vice  Governor of Yunnan province, was expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and dismissed from public office for graft probe. It said that Shen Peiping had taken "advantage of his post to seek profits for others", accepted "a huge amount of bribe" and committed adultery.

Interestingly Shen Peiping, who was born in February 1962 and joined the CCP in 1985, was a rapidly rising cadre. He was promoted as Vice Governor of Yunnan in Jan 2013.
