Going into a damage control mode after its Director General Tedros’ irrational outburst against Taiwan last week, Dr. Van Kerkhove and another official called the Taiwan CECC / Ministry of Health and had an hour-long discussion with them, asking how Taiwan had handled the crisis. A Tweet was uploaded by the WHO on April 17 in order to mend ties with Taiwan, emphasising communications at the technical level.
