CHINA-DISSENT: SHANGHAI POLICE DETAINS LAWYER-TURNED-CITIZEN JOURNALIST

Radio Free Asia reported (May 18) that police from Shanghai have detained Zhang Zhan, a lawyer-turned-citizen journalist who reported on the emerging coronavirus epidemic in the city of Wuhan. Zhang Zhan, who lives in Shanghai but who travelled to Wuhan in early February, was taken away from Wuhan's Caiguang Hotel near Hankou railway station on the night of May 14.
