CHINA-INTERNAL: LEADERSHIP/ANTI-CORRUPTION

Senior and veteran Chinese Communist Party leaders will be gathering this week for their traditional meeting at the seaside resort of Beidaihe. Among the issues they are expected to discuss is the decision to prosecute Zhou Yongkang and CCP CC General Secretary Xi Jinping's campaign against corruption that has gone on for almost two years to unprecedentedly net a number of high ranking cadres.

Earlier this week China's state-controlled media quoted Xi Jinping as saying:"The two armies of corruption and anti-corruption are in opposition and are at a stalemate."

Renmin University Political Science Professor Zhang Ming described the situation as complicated, and told the South China Morning Post that different factions might hit back in Beidaihe.
