China's official CCTV began telecasting a 48-episode CCTV teleseries on Deng Xiaoping (covering 1976-1984) at prime time from August 8 evening. The play has been produced by CCTV in collaboration with the Sichuan Pprovince Communist Party Literature Research Center and other parties. A total of about 120 million yuan has been invested in the drama series, described as a "masterwork."
