CHINA--NPC: 4 PLA DEPUTIES TO NPC ORDERED TO RESIGN DUE TO 'VIOLATIONS OF DISCIPLINE AND LAW'

Of the 17 NPC Deputies dismissed in a surprise move "due to violations of discipline and law", 4 were senior former officers of the PLA who held high positions in the past. The four PLA Officers are: Rao Kaixun, Former Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Strategic Support Force; Xu Xianghua, Former Deputy Commander of the Army in the PLA Western Theatre Command; Ye Qing, Former Political Commissioner of Hainan Military Region; and Meng Zhongkang, Former Political Committee of Jiangsu Military Region.
