The Information Office of China' s State Council and the TAR government jointly sponsored a two-day (August 12-13, 2014) 'Tibet Forum for Development' in Lhasa. Around 100 representatives, including about 40 from the UK, US, India and other countries convened on August 12 in the TAR capital Lhasa, on August 12. The topics to be discussed at the forum are the opportunities and choices for Tibet's development and protection of Tibetan culture and environment. All the representatives from China and abroad who are attending the forum will later go on field trips in Lhasa and to Nyingchi Prefecture.
